From Hunting Lodge To Luxury Lodging
Founded in 1914 by Charles Hardy, Chatham Bars Inn began as an elegant hunting lodge for New England’s elite. Set along Aunt Lydia’s Cove, it quickly became a refined coastal retreat, blending natural beauty with modern comforts. After Hardy’s passing in 1929, the Inn’s legacy continued, solidifying its place as one of Cape Cod’s most iconic destinations.

Notable visitors included Henry Ford, William Rockefeller, and members of European royalty, with Princess Juliana of the Netherlands residing at the Inn during World War II.
